De-escalation and a commitment to positive outcomes were the pillars of Terry L. Jones’s approach to security. Over his 30-plus years in the industry, Terry shared that vision generously, mentoring countless Teachout Security employees and shaping the values we still carry forward today.

Terry began his career with Teachout in the mid-1980s, working directly under our founder, Bernard Teachout. He later joined public safety at Hurley Medical Center before returning to Teachout in 2007.

Even after his retirement in 2023, Terry remained a source of guidance and inspiration—not only to many of our employees, but to peers and professionals across the broader industry. His passion for learning and professional growth was evident in his service on the ASIS Healthcare Council and through his active involvement with the International Association of Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS).
