On August 2, a leadership team led by President Joe Cozart attended the 3-day Ohio School Safety Summit in Columbus, Ohio, to strengthen Teachout’s expertise on school security and safety awareness.
Two programs were offered over the three days, the School Safety Summit and a Public Safety Symposium. Each program had keynote speakers every morning and after lunch with breakout sessions offering up to six separate sessions from which attendees could choose. To take full advantage of the opportunity, the members of the Teachout contingent attended separate sessions and returned with a comprehensive overview of the latest protocols for school safety and security.

- “Saving Sycamore – The School Shooting that Never Happened”
Breakout sessions featured training in such topics as:
- Conflict De-Escalation Skills for K-12
- Redefining the Role of Law Enforcement in Schools
- Successful Threat Assessment Planning and Implementation
