Is Armed Security a Viable Option?

The workplace is a common site of hostilities, with approximately 2 million Americans falling victim to workplace violence each year. The presence of firearms is not always the answer as it can escalate situations far more than they would have needed to be.

However, in today’s world, there are places that should have armed security. Many security providers, the majority of them, simply require an officer with a Concealed Pistol License (CPS). Teachout Security Solutions, a company that’s been in business for over 40 years, does not go that route.

Teachout’s armed officers are trained well beyond a CPL. The person who trains our armed officers is a retired police officer and police firearms instructor. He owns his own indoor range and trains our staff well beyond the minimal training other companies require.

Additionally, our team is trained in verbal de-escalation and physical management of assaultive people. Armed officers might be a deterrent, they can they manage an issue when it occurs? If the subject acting out is not armed, an officer cannot shoot him. That’s why we exceed the required training for our armed staff.

There are numerous low-bidders who require little or no training. That is not who we are.

The first step in determining if your security team should be armed is to complete a comprehensive security assessment. At Teachout, we have seven credentialed leaders on staff. That is more than any other Michigan-based company.

If you are considering arming your security team, call us. We will identify your strengths and weaknesses and determine if armed staff is the right decision. Then we will provide a team of officers trained well beyond the norm.
